Coach G received his B.S. degree in 1977 and his M.A. degree in 1978 from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama. He is certified to teach math grades 4-12, health, physical education grade 7-12, sociology grades 7-12.
Coach Glasgow played athletics at Russelllville High School lettering in football, 3 years; basketball, 1 year and baseball 4 years. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1973. He received several honors at Russellville including in football--All Tennessee Valley Conference Back, Most Valuable Back 1972, and he also played in the East-West All-Star game in baseball in the AHSAA.
Coach Glasgow played college tennis at the University of North Alabama in 1977 and 1978. He played under graduate assistants, Steve Hardgraves and Chuck Wright. Coach Glasgow has taught also taught tennis for the City of Russellville and Twin Pines Country Club. He has won several local tennis tournaments and also won several usta sanctioned tournaments. He began playing tennis at age 13 and played usta tournaments in his junior year in high school. Russellville began a tennis team the year after he graduated. He received tennis instruction from several local pros and also attended Dennis Van der Meer Tennis University in Miami in 1975 and began teaching tennis at age 19.
While at UNA under a limited tennis scholarship, Coach Glasgow teamed with Mickey Brackin, Town Creek, Alabama for a doubles record of 15-3 at UNA in 1978 reaching the Gulf South Conference semi-finals losing to the eventual champion, Southeastern Louisiana. He played # 4 singles at UNA and teamed with Brackin at # 3 doubles.
Coach G has taught at the following schools: Sheffield, Brilliant, Central-Florence, Muscle Shoals, and Red Bay. He began teaching at Red Bay in 1989. Coach G has taught the following subjects: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Advanced Math with Trig, Math5, Math6, Math7, Math8, Math9, Consumer Math, and Physical Education.
During his teaching and coaching career, he has been an Assistant Football Coach, Head Varsity Basketball Coach, Jr. High Basketball Coach, Assistant Baseball Coach, Assistant Softball Coach, Head Varsity Track Coach, and Varsity Tennis Coach.
Coach G has taught summer school at the following schools: Florence High School, Belgreen High School, Phil Campbell High School, and Vina High School.
Red Bay High School Tennis Program
Red Bay began tennis in the AHSAA in 1990.
Their first state tournament appearance was in 1991. Red Bay has qualified for State 17 times. Red Bay's highest finish at State has been 5th place for the boys in 2008. Red Bay's girls doubles team of Greta Fabianke-Kim Hester were semi-finalist at State at #1 doubles in 1999. Wesley Jarnigan and Matt Young were semi-finalist in Boys Singles in 2007.Wesley Jarnigan, Matt Young, Toby Gray, and Kirk Armstrong were semi-finalist in singles and doubles in 2008 at the state tournament.

Coach G's Kids
Coach G has two children, Kyle, age 22 and Shayna, age 20. Kyle is a graduate of Red Bay High School in 2005 while Shayna graduated from Russellville High School in 2006. Shayna received an athletic tennis scholarship to NWSCC in Tuscumbia in 2006. She graduated from NWSCC and attends Athens State University. Kyle is currently self-employed as a Web Page designer and local DJ.
